Well, 4 and a half years ago, in the summer, we moved from capitalcity Riga to countryside 200 kilometers away.
Sometimes it seems, that we changed “everything good and fun” to “there is no pubs, cinemas, theatres, cafes or restaurants…boring!”. But no, I LOVE living in the countryside! WHY?

Local organic fresh food, garden and ochard, peace and quite, you can see the stars and wild animals, fresh air and no traffic, slower pace of life, simple.

Children seem to blossom when given enough space. Your girls will be wonderful adults from learning to appreciate nature at it’s best.

Wise decision, and your girls will thank you for it, Ilze.
Maybe. Now the oldest one been asking – why we aren’t in Rīga! She is dreaming of living in Rīga. She is 6! 🙂
How does she know what life is like in Riga? “The grass is always greener on the other side of the street!”
She wasa 2 when we moved here. We have a lot of pictures of everyday life in Riga. She loves them, maybe because she was alone at that point….
Ah, but maybe she just loves them because to her they seem like fantasy land, and that’s where every child wants to go – into a fantasy.
Maybe… Actually it doesn’t metter – she is saying once in a while that she would love to live in Riga…
The best thing anyone could ever do 🙂
..but only few can 🙂
Only a few want to!
…also. But those who want mostly can’t. 🙁 and I didn’t wanted until I spent summer here and realise we can plan our life differently.
Well said and perfect reasons for being in the country, especially for the girls💕
Latvia is pritty full of fields and forests and countryside. I was shocked when was in Germany, a lot of small villages. Here are house and other thechnical buildings alone without neighbors miles away. Called lauku viensēta.
Latvia sounds absolutely beautiful, good for the soul kind of place❤️
Latvia is beautiful. I wish I bogged about latvian places… Won’t have time to travel this summer. But if I do, I will blog about beautiful places 🙂
Best place to live
