Macachino. So, what is Macachino (in my family!)?
It’s a super drink I choose when I’m not in the mood for coffee… and it happens very often lately!
I used to drink coffee two times per day. White american coffee (I didn’t know there is coffee and american coffee until I asked for coffee in Italia) with extra milk and foam. The first was at the morning and the second one in the afternoon always with some treat and from a small and delicate china cup (like a Hyacinth from “Keeping up appearances”). It was like a ritual! I didn’t like the jitters I have after taking the coffee… yet I keep up with ritual. Every afternoon I drunk coffee and I ignore my stomach ache and jitters.. and then I heard about Maca. You can reed about maca here.
Now I have choice :). For those who wonder how does maca taste?! Organic Burst describes it tastes malty and slightly earthy, with hints of caramel! I would say, you should start with small amount of maca and increase the dosage slowly to get used to it (I’m talking about taste and also about your body to get used to the new supplement).
Recipe below.
Macachino

Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cup milk of your choice
- 1/2 tsp maca powder (I use Organic Burst)
- 1 tsp cocoa powder
- rice syrup or other sweetener to taste (optional)
Directions
- In a saucepan heat up the milk (about 60° C).
- Froth the milk and add maca and cocoa powder. Mix it all together.
- Add rice syrup to taste. Ready!

Sounds yummy!
For me it is the only way how to take it. Not all supplements are tasty but some of them have good health benefits! Like this maca. 100% natural Nature’s power 🙂
Interesting! I’m sticking to just one sort of coffee. Well, my husband loves that type of thing, so we might just try that!
It’s more like a hot chocolate but the maca as it’s own have good health benefits without jitter. Google Maca and read by yourself!
Hello,
Thank you for your interesting article.
I have a question: where can I purchase certified maca in Latvia/Riga.
Thanks in advance.
What do you mean by certified!? I’m buying mine in organic burst internet shop. And I don’t know if it’s certified.
i would like to know if there is a description of the source of the root and the way it has been processed as there is different kind of maca, red, yellow, black. Thanks for your google suggestion.
I don’t know such information! I watched Organic Burst videos and I like the whole idea of how they try to help smaller farmers. If it’s ok with you to by from https://www.organicburst.com/ ask them – they will answer!
