So, I’m back! After 80 days away from work, today was my first day back. And honestly, it felt a little like starting a new job. 😉
We had a Zoom meeting that lasted more than an hour, and I realised I can’t concentrate for that long anymore. Sitting still is also surprisingly difficult! Everyone seemed a bit edgy, or maybe I’ve just become too relaxed during my time off and notice everyone’s frustration more.
And then there’s AI. I know we have AI helpers, but guess who forgot to log in and get everything ready? 🙋♀️ AI and I clearly need to work on our relationship!
But I also found myself thinking about our support team.

Our website says we offer real-person support. And we really do! We have a fantastic team (arbout 11 people) and five-star support ratings. Yet when I look at our website, all 31 employees are lined up with their rather stiff, almost passport-style photos. You don’t wanna see my image! It’s terrible!
Where are the people behind those faces?
I think we could show a little more of who we are. Our personalities, interests, quirks, and what makes each of us different. We’re not just names answering support tickets. We’re real people, and that’s something worth showing.
In a world where AI is becoming part of everything, perhaps letting our personalities shine could be one of the things that makes us stand out. Our customers already love our support, so why not let them get to know the people behind it? It’s rare to get REAL-PERSON support these days…
Just an idea that popped into my head on my first day back. Maybe 80 days away have given me a slightly different perspective. I will talks about this with our designer.
Now, I just need to get my concentration back and remember to log in to everything. One day at a time! 😊

I thin you will see your job and coworkers a little differently after a long holiday, Ilze. Be well!
It seems like it!
The first day back even after leave is always difficult. Hope it all goes well!
All will be ok 🙂
