The strawflowers had been waiting patiently for me to plant them outside. They sat in their pots for longer than planned, and I knew I had to find them a home before they outgrew their temporary one. I would say they did outgrew these small plugs…

After walking around the property and looking for an empty spot, I settled on a place next to the pool. Is it the best location? I honestly don’t know. It gets plenty of sun, and the dark pool wall behind it probably makes the area even warmer. Part of me worries that the summer heat might be too much for them, but another part hopes they’ll love it there and reward me with bright blooms all season long.

The pool project is moving forward too, although much more slowly than I expected. The water filters keep getting clogged, and our old pump has decided this is the perfect time to show its age and develop a few problems of its own.

We’re getting there, though.
If you look at the water right now, it certainly doesn’t resemble the crystal-clear swimming pools you see in advertisements. At the moment it looks more like a pond than a pool! But little by little, the filters are doing their job, and hopefully, with enough patience, we’ll have clear water before long.
For now, the strawflowers have their new home, the pool is slowly filling up, and summer continues one small project at a time.

As the saying goes ‘All’s right with the world’ 🙂 ! The pool does not look too bad and I am saying ‘sorry’ to the poor old pool filter . . . a few dollars may have to leave the household before all of that is fixed! Strawflowers are tough and I very much like them where they are . . . softening the somewhat harsh look of the pool sides! You people are doing OK . . . am looking forwards to the next photos . . .
Thank you, Eha! If i have saying in it all, the pool would be under ground… or at least under terrace… porch 🙂 But not this year, we have limited finances 🙂
