In the age of AI, my favorite bloggers are the people who write about their own lives. I love reading about ordinary days, gardens, family traditions, travels, and little moments that no AI could ever truly experience or tell.

It’s raining. And I love it. Everything looks greener after just a few hours of steady rain.
I actually enjoy days like this. They give me permission to stay indoors without feeling guilty. Instead of rushing outside to weed another bed or plant something new, I can sit with a cup of tea, read a few blogs, watch a film, or simply listen to the rain tapping against the windows.
The vegetable garden won’t mind a day without me. Even the weeds will probably celebrate the rain, but that’s tomorrow’s problem.
Rainy Sundays have a different kind of beauty. They remind me that nature doesn’t always need our help. Sometimes the best thing we can do is slow down and let the rain take care of everything for a while.
I hope you’re having a peaceful Sunday too, whatever the weather is like where you are.
Ilze

You have very beautiful views from your lovely home, Ilze! 😊❤️
Thank you, John! If you ever come to Latvia, welcome to visit and enjoy 🙂
This is a terrific response. Real human thoughts about every day things!!
🙂 Thank you. My favorite blogs are the real ones 🙂
We’ve had torrential downpours here, 8.5 ” of rain in the last 72 hours. Fortunately, we are expected to have a couple of dry days.
Wow, that’s an incredible amount of rain in such a short time! I hope everything stayed safe and dry. Fingers crossed those couple of dry days give the ground a chance to recover.
We had some very heavy rain in the past 24 hours. Flooding and downed trees in many areas. All is well in my town though. Sunshine today though and it has been a lovely Sunday. Your favorite bloggers are pretty much like mine. I sure enjoy your blog and learning about where you live. Your photos of the clouds and rain are very nice.
Thank you so much for your kind words! I’m really happy you enjoy seeing a little glimpse of life here in Latvia. 😊 It’s nice that your town escaped the flooding. What do you enjoy most about where you live?
What I enjoy most is all the beautiful trees, the mountain, nice neighbors, the wildlife and that it is a small town.
It is raining here too…and looks like rain all week. I agree about favourite bloggers – the aspects of everyday life in a different setting.
I completely agree. It’s fascinating how ordinary daily life can feel so different depending on where someone lives. I always enjoy learning those little cultural differences. What part of everyday life in another country do you find most interesting to read about?
Dear Ilze, this really resonated with me. I loved your thoughts about slowing down and allowing the rain to take care of the garden for a while. Sometimes we need those quiet days just to stop, think and enjoy where we are.
I also couldn’t agree more about enjoying blogs that share real life. Those ordinary moments are often the ones I enjoy reading most.
Thank you for sharing your thoughts.
Thank you, Stephanie. Your comment made me smile. I think we all need those slower days from time to time, even if we don’t always allow ourselves to take them. I’m so glad the post resonated with you. What helps you slow down and recharge?
Thank you, Ilze. 😊
For me, it’s the simple things at home – a little time in the garden, working on a crochet or sewing project, or simply sitting quietly with a coffee and reflecting on the week. I’ve found blogging has made me slow down and notice those ordinary moments a little more, and I’m really enjoying that.
Writing about your life is way more fun
I agree! It also feels much more meaningful because every day brings something a little different to write about. 😊 What do you enjoy writing about most these days?
Great piece! Really enjoyed this one. I’d love for you to check out my latest work at storefrontsubway.com, if you’re interested!
Thank you! I’m really glad you enjoyed it. 😊 I’ll have a look when I have some quiet reading time. What inspired you to start your blog?
The weather is awesome here, though it has been raining continuously, and I like the fact that it’s cool
That sounds lovely! I enjoy rainy weather much more when it keeps everything cool instead of feeling humid. What’s your favorite season where you live?
Like all of the above . . . just love the peace of a rainy everyday . . . agree with what everyone has said . . . one does not have to measure one’s blood pressure or reach for a pill . . . 🙂 !
😊 I know exactly what you mean. There’s something wonderfully calming about listening to the rain while the world outside slows down for a while. Do you have a favorite rainy-day ritual?
I love personal blogs, too, because I can connect and relate more. Most of the blogs I read daily are those people who are honest about themselves. Amazing photos, ilze and enjoy your week ahead!
Thank you so much, Hazel! I feel exactly the same. Honest personal blogs make me feel like I’m catching up with friends from around the world. 😊 What kind of blogs do you find yourself returning to most often?
The brevity matters to me as well as honesty, kindness, and authenticity. Those blogs that have this are worth returning to
Thank you, Hazel! I’ve seen you more then once here 🙂
My pleasure, ilze
Same here. I like reading about small moments which feel true.
Exactly! Those small, genuine moments often stay with me much longer than dramatic stories. They’re what make a blog feel personal. What was the last small moment that inspired one of your posts?

Incredible, i love the green ambiance. Abu Dhabi is a different world where the sand covers everythibg outside.
Thank you! 😊 Latvia and Abu Dhabi really couldn’t be more different. I can’t imagine living surrounded by so much sand, while I’m surrounded by forests and green fields. What do you enjoy most about living in Abu Dhabi?
Actually i came from Kenya. I am here for work. I won’t say I have enjoyed this new country so much but in a way, it has offered me a different view of the world compared to the one I had for the last 30 years I have seen in my country. I have understood that with the right system of governance, life can be uplifted and the financial struggles we experience where i come from, is only a decision away to be solved.
