Day 3 in Salacgriva was a special one – we celebrated my brother’s 43rd birthday! It was a lovely, intimate gathering, a contrast to the unforgettable party we threw back in 2016 that everyone still talks about. That year, I organized a camouflage-themed outdoor bash, complete with a DJ and a lively atmosphere. The weather was terrible, with rain pouring down all day, but no one cared. We danced, laughed, and made the most of it, turning the stormy skies into part of the fun.

This year, we opted for a more relaxed celebration, with just a few close friends and family members. It’s amazing how time flies, and I have a feeling that when he hits a more “round” number, my brother will be ready for another big celebration!

The evening was spent enjoying each other’s company, with the highlight being the delicious wild pork ribs we grilled on the barbecue. The smoky aroma filled the air, making the meal even more satisfying. We also had a bit of an adventure with some late-night shopping for a birthday cake. Since my brother is on a keto diet, cake wasn’t on his menu – but we couldn’t resist bringing our own! 😄

A bit of a shame that we were so caught up in the celebration that we didn’t capture many photos… other than these two! 😄

As the day drew to a close, we were treated to a beautiful sunset that painted the sky in shades of orange and blue. It was the perfect end to a memorable day, filled with laughter, good food, and the warmth of being together. Celebrating in Salacgriva, where our family roots run deep, made the occasion even more meaningful. Here’s to many more birthdays and happy memories to come!
