TV Nostalgia: My Favorite Shows from the 90s-00s

Growing up in Latvia in the 90s and early 2000s was a unique experience, especially when it came to TV. With no internet and only a handful of channels—four at most—our choices were limited, but that just made the shows we did watch all the more memorable.

One of my go-to cartoons was Cow and Chicken, a quirky and hilarious show that never failed to make me laugh. When it came to live-action, Saved by the Bell was a favorite, bringing a bit of American high school life into my living room. And who could forget Beverly Hills, 90210? The drama, the fashion, the relationships—it was all so captivating!

Fast forward to today, and my TV habits have changed with the times (thanks to the Internet). I’ve watched Friends all the way through three times now, and it never gets old! It’s funny to think about how limited our options were back then, but those shows still managed to leave a lasting impression. Now, with endless streaming options, it’s comforting to revisit old favorites, even if it’s for the third time!

    1. Yes, even worth… or BETTER! My kids have everything and are still bored, then I take everything away and after a day (let’s call it fancy – detox) they find a lot to do 🙂 P.S. I can’t believe you are in 1942! My mom is in 1953 and she never touched a computer 🙂 NEVER!

  1. Cow and Chicken was epic! Cow! Chicke-e-en!
My two boys loved it (they’d have been early teens, I think) and my wife would be totally baffled as to how the three of us would be laughing out loud at something so ‘immature’ as she’d say. 😂
