Last night’s sunset at Chestnut Manor was nothing short of breathtaking. There’s a certain magic in the way the light kisses the land here, as if the day itself is softly saying goodbye before slipping into night.
In the midst of this golden glow stood our caravan—our cozy hideaway throughout the renovation. It’s almost time to clean it out and tuck it away for winter. The thought of putting it to rest feels bittersweet. It has been our retreat through all three summers of construction, offering a sense of comfort and familiarity. But now, as new spaces in the house take shape, the caravan’s role is slowly being replaced. Not quite yet, though!

As the sun dipped behind it, I paused to reflect on the journey it’s been through with us, standing strong during these phases of transition.
There’s something calming about the end of the day at Chestnut Manor. No matter how chaotic things feel, the sunset brings peace. Soon, the caravan will rest for the winter—just like us, hopefully in our house, preparing for the quieter months ahead, before the next renovation season.

Very beautiful photos, Ilze! I wonder if it is possible to continue the renovations indoors during the winter months? Progress is progress! 😊

Yes, it is! But the problem might be our financial situation 😉 Winter is for saving up, but tiles and wallpaper will go to walls in winter for sure! I will keep you posted!

It will be mine! Like I want it, with character and style 🙂 Specific to me, not “mainstream” 😉
