While wandering through the forest recently, I stumbled upon a series of three small lakes nestled among the trees. They had an air of mystery about them, almost as if they were hidden treasures waiting to be discovered.
These lakes felt almost haunted to me; the stillness of the water and the surrounding woods created an enchanting atmosphere. It seemed that people frequented the area, but not for swimming—rather, it appeared they came to fish, build a fire, perhaps cook food and drink (there where empty bottles everywhere, such a pigs!)
I must admit, I wouldn’t want to swim in these lakes either. Their calmness feels eerie, better for quiet thoughts than swimming. Instead, I appreciated the peace of the scene, enjoying the beauty of nature and its hidden secrets.
But when we drove back out from this road, we spotted a cabin built on stilts… plopped right in the middle of nowhere! I mean, who needs a fancy Airbnb when you’ve got this gem? Probably for hunting, but what’s with that cabin? Usually, it’s just a platform! Someone really enjoyed playing architect in the woods—next thing you know, we’ll find a hot tub up there too! 🙂

Yikes, I wouldn’t swim in those lakes either, Ilze, there is indeed something odd about them. Perhaps the area is prone to occasional flooding, hence the pilings under the platform?

Nope, it’s in the middle of very green forest and no rivers around 🙂

I see, the structure looks like a deer blind, I grew up around deer hunters but have never been a hunter…

Venison is so delicious when cooked right, it also pairs well with beef. My grandmother was an expert at cooking venison. Low fat and delicious!
