Dragon Fruit…

We finally tried dragon fruit—the exotic fruit with stunning pink skin and green-tipped spikes. It looked so inviting, so we couldn’t wait to dive in!

When we cut it open, the inside was just as beautiful—vibrant pink flesh dotted with tiny black seeds. We expected a burst of tropical flavor, but instead, it tasted like… sugar beet! There was a hint of sweetness, but the texture was off, and honestly, the only thing I liked was the seeds. Can you believe it?

Everyone took a bite, but none of us enjoyed it. We’ll be sticking to our trusty apples and berries, leaving dragon fruit behind.

What about you—do you like dragon fruit?

      1. It’s a big problem when shopping at Starbucks and the like. When I want to be sure, which is every week, we go to a specialty grocer where everything is fresh made with no preservatives and all listed on the label. That’s where we buy our meals for the week since I don’t cook. He has so many late night meeting almost every night so eat separatly, except last night because his meeting didn’t start until 9:00 PM. He has to work on the Japanese schedule.

        1. Japanese schedule, that’s awesome! I know what you meant cause my husband was working on a Canadian schedule from Latvia. We got tired!

I’ve just started learning a bit myself. 😊 What kind of work does he do?

            1. Indoors only! Out here in the countryside, with birds and mice—perfect snacks for a cat—my cat can freely roam, defend himself, and even catch a little treat now and then. He loves visiting the neighbor’s barn and often comes back smelling of fresh hay. I don’t think city life is ideal for cats, with so many cars, dogs, and other hazards. The only concern here might be the occasional fox, but he has plenty of safe spots to hide if needed. 🙂
