3rd Advent Sunday: Sleepless and Sore

It’s the 3rd Advent Sunday—a time to light candles, reflect on the season, and prepare for Christmas. But here I am, writing with tired eyes after a night of almost no sleep.

Something feels off. My teeth ache, or perhaps it’s not the teeth themselves but underneath them. It’s a strange sensation, one I’ve never experienced before. My teeth have always been in good shape, so this is entirely new territory for me.

The pain feels like a quiet throb, but it’s enough to keep me restless. Maybe it’s stress or something I’ve eaten, or could it be a cold creeping in? Whatever it is, I’m determined to figure it out soon.

For now, I’ll try to find some peace in this Advent Sunday—a warm cup of tea, some candles lit, and maybe a short nap if I’m lucky. It’s not the way I planned to spend today, but life rarely goes as planned, does it?

Here’s to hoping the next Advent Sunday is brighter and pain-free…

P.S. If tonight is another sleepless one, I may have to make the trip to Riga—a daunting 2-hour drive. I don’t usually drive outside our city, so Jānis would need to take me, which means rearranging everything for the kids to get to school and back. The thought of coordinating it all feels overwhelming, but it might be the only way to figure out what’s going on….

    1. That’s a good point—I’ll definitely pay more attention to my jaw. I haven’t noticed any pain there, but stress could be playing a part. Thank you for sharing your experience; it helps to consider all possibilities! 😊

    1. It’s interesting how our teeth can reflect what’s going on in the rest of our body. I hope the aches aren’t too bothersome when you’re unwell—it’s a reminder to take extra care of ourselves during those times! 😊
