This Holiday was a bit of a surprise. My brother and his family decided to come and celebrate with us. At first, I wasn’t thrilled. Life is already hectic—between work, renovations, and the chaos of our “not-quite-ready” house, the thought of hosting felt overwhelming. We don’t even have a proper space to celebrate yet!

But as the day unfolded, I realized how much I had missed them. Instead of stressing over every detail, I chose to let go of perfection. I skipped the hours-long cooking marathon and opted for simpler dishes, which freed up my time to just be with my family.
The kids ran around the house, laughter filled the air, and we shared stories late into the night… 3AM to be precise. It wasn’t the picture-perfect Holidays I might have imagined, but it was real and full of warmth.
Sometimes, it’s not about having everything just right; it’s about embracing the people who matter most.
