Indoor Cucumbers: Progress So Far

Back on January 30, I decided to try something new—growing cucumbers indoors in our growing tent. These aren’t just any cucumbers; they’re a special kind that doesn’t need pollinators, which makes them perfect for indoor growing. I wasn’t sure if we could really pull it off, but I figured, why not give it a try?

Now, a few months later, the plants are looking surprisingly good! They’ve been blooming beautifully, and every day I peek in to check for tiny cucumbers starting to form. There’s something so satisfying about seeing green life thrive indoors when everything outside still feels like it’s waking up from winter.

It’s a little experiment, but it brings a lot of joy. Hopefully, we’ll have homegrown cucumbers ready to pick soon—and if not, it’s still been a fun journey so far!

Here is all the blogposts I posted about our cucumbers:

Thank you all for following along,

Ilze

    1. Thank you, Peggy! I’m crossing my fingers for a mini cucumber jungle soon 😊 Even if we only get a few, it already feels like a little victory to have something blooming indoors this early in the year. Do you grow anything indoors too, or wait for warmer (or maybe cooler) weather?

    1. Ooh, sun pickles! That sounds dreamy 😄 Latvians are known for dill pickles 🙂 I hope to get enough outdoors later in the summer. I might try a small jar of refrigerator pickles. Nothing beats that fresh crunch. Do you have a favorite pickle recipe?
