Finding Room for Beauty (and a Little Bit of Chaos)

That’s not all! Only half!

Lately, I’ve been busy packing out our plates and sets—finally giving them a proper home after what feels like forever. There’s something so satisfying (and slightly overwhelming) about unwrapping each piece of porcelain and imagining the meals, celebrations, and quiet cups of tea they’ll be part of.

The buffet, as lovely as it is, turned out to be… well, a bit too small. I had such hopes that all my porcelain services would fit neatly inside—but no. I have bought a few more. Remember – the one for Christmas. I suppose I always knew I had more than average, but seeing it all together really brought it home. Still, I wouldn’t change a thing. These pieces have stories, and I’m not ready to part with any of them just yet.

Now comes the tricky part—deciding what deserves to be on display in the top section behind the glass, and what will stay hidden behind the doors below. Do I go for elegance? Daily use? The prettiest mismatched set? I haven’t decided yet, but I’m enjoying the process.

Marley, of course, tried to help by suggesting I reduce the amount. “Do you really need all these?” he asked, with that hopeful look. But I just couldn’t let him! Not this time. Every plate, every cup has its place—if not in the buffet, then at least in my heart. 💛

Off to play porcelain Tetris again. Wish me luck!

    1. Thank you so much! 😊 It means a lot to me too—there’s just something special about surrounding yourself with pieces that carry stories. I love that you have your granny’s antiques! They must hold so many memories. Isn’t it the best kind of comfort, having those little treasures around? 💛
