I can’t believe it — it’s snowing! Everything is so green, and the plum trees are blooming! I already have seedlings growing in the greenhouse and a few things planted outside. The last thing we need now is snow and freezing temperatures (below 0°C)!

And yet, in this chilly chaos, we had a little surprise: we ate our very first window sill cucumber! Yes, cucumber — grown right here at home, by the window, in the warmth of our living room… Yes – living room. Crunchy, fresh, and just the right size for snacking.
Here is my cucumber journey:
It’s such a strange but lovely contrast — freezing cold outside while we enjoy little green bites of summer indoors. A tiny victory for our indoor gardening efforts and a small reminder that growth is always possible, even in the coldest moments.
Stay warm,
Ilze

Yes, it was! Helmī wanted to eat all of it by herself, but we shared at the end 🙂

Thank you, Derrick! We had a frost down to -3°C. I planted a Magnolia a year ago, and unfortunately, it got frostbite. A few flowers had started to bloom, but none of them survived.

That is a shame. I hope the shrub recovers

I hope so too! Next Tuesday forecast says -3C again! Not sure whether to plant something out or not. My last frost date here is the end of May… but I might cover the crops, since there are few plants … small beds etc.
