I can hardly believe it – my oldest girl is turning 13 this month! And not only that, she’s finishing her years at the art school. Our first big goal has been officially reached. It feels like just yesterday she started, still so small, brought there when she was still in kindergarten. And now here we are – nearly teens, nearly graduates. 🥹
This week we had parents’ night at the school. It was my first time in the new place – finally the art school and music school has a special designed rooms. And wow – what a difference! It’s like day and night compared to the old place. The space is brighter, the walls full of inspiration, and everything feels like it was actually made to support creativity.

It’s been a big year for her. Between finishing up projects, exams, regular school, and still being very much a child in so many ways, I’m amazed at how she’s handled it. She’s growing into someone so strong, clever, and uniquely herself.
As a final project, she decided to take pottery and make 4 decorative plates… I hope to tell about that later on 🙂

We’ll be celebrating both her birthday and her graduation soon – and I have a feeling I’ll be crying at least once during each. 💛
Our first goal reached… and many more to come. But tonight, I’m just grateful.

Absolutely—it’s been such a joy watching Nelle’s creativity blossom over the years. She’s always had a unique way of expressing herself, and art school has really nurtured that. Do you have any creative outlets or artistic pursuits that you enjoy?

Thank you so much! Nelle is pouring her heart into those decorative plates for her final project. It’s amazing to see how her style has evolved. Do you have any favorite art mediums or projects you’ve worked on recently?

I admire people who can paint and draw. I’ve never had that talent. My art is my writing, painting with words. I always have a “canvas” in progress and they are all my favorites, lol.

Thank you, Mags! Nelle was so proud of her work, and it means a lot to hear such kind words. Have you or someone close to you explored pottery or other forms of art? I’d love to hear about your experiences. She is in the scathing phase; I’ll share the plates when they’re finished.

No one in my family has explored pottery. Some of my family members are talented painters and musicians. I am looking forward to seeing the finished plates. I do love pottery.

These are sketches, we will see how she finishes them, only one week left, and no actual plate is painted yet! Plates have to dry, and then they fire them, and now it’s time to start painting them 🙂
