Nelle turned a year older, and we celebrated quietly but sweetly. I baked the birthday cake with help from Linna.

She was so proud to help, and the cake turned out lovely. We lit the candles, sang the birthday song, and smiled at how quickly these little ones grow.

It was one of those rare moments when both of Nelle’s godparents were with us. Life gets busy, so having them both here on her special day meant a lot.

When the rain finally stopped, we enjoyed a lovely time outside, grilling šašlik and soaking in the fresh, earthy air.

Meanwhile, the grandparents enjoyed a quiet moment in the sauna and hot bath —Latvian style.

Not everything was perfect or posed, but the day was real, warm, and full of love.
Tired but happy after sauna, šašlik, and a full day of fun, the girls made their way to a sleepover at the grandparents’ house.

We continued the celebration the next morning with a late breakfast, and some friends kept the party spirit going well into the following day as well! So the last one left us today 🙂

Well that sounds like a perfect day, Ilze. Had to mention, I LOVE the pic of the woman in the hot tub with her glass of wine 🙂

🙂 My mom is on the left, and Janis’ parents are on the right 🙂 They demanded “hot tub service” 🙂 and stayed there talking even when I got home 🙂 till 2AM, I guess.

Oh no… But hey, they say that once you cut back on sweets, your body stops craving them! Maybe there’s hope for us yet 😅

I have no will power… I’m too tired building my life 🙂 and sometimes I forgot it’s already my life 🙂 Not sure I’m at my “best”, for that I need peace and lovely surroundings 🙂
