Fun we had with Marika

As you know, my colleague Marika came for a visit. You can read here: When a Colleague Cycles 108km/67miles to Visit You

I didn’t feel like going out, but we went for dinner anyway — and I’m so glad we did. We ended up chasing a rainbow.

Then wandered into a forest wrapped in fog. It felt surreal, like a dream we had stumbled into together. Helmī enjoyed the time with Marika and had a lot of questions about her experience. Also, the one – How you met Cipo 🙂

Yes, Marika cycled back! She cycled about 108 km (67 miles) all the way to Cēsis and got rain in Vecpiebalga. Cipo didn’t like it at all…

From Cēsis, she took a train to Sigulda, visited another colleague there, and continued by train to Riga, had a coffee with the view:

Cipo liked it better than rain. And finally, all the way home to Liepāja by bus. That’s 445 km (277 miles) from Gulbene — a long journey even by car!

Can you tell who Cipo is?

  1. Lovely images of the rainbow and mist. Good to see the freedom monument. Cēsis is a lovely little town, I’ve visited it a few times with my relatives and also Sigulda. What a journey for Marika and Cipo.

  2. Wonderful photos, Ilze! The photo of your daughter eating the rainbow is great! I was wondering if you can do an audio clip or a video of you speaking your language? Languages are so fascinating!!
