I can’t believe July is already over! We didn’t set any formal goals this month—and honestly, with summer in full swing and both of us working full time, that was more than enough. July naturally became a month of slowing down, enjoying home, and letting the simple beauty of the season unfold around us.
But first—July gallery! 🌿📸

How July Treated Us
We didn’t aim for anything. And in that freedom, the month unfolded in the best possible way.
The garden thrived quietly. I started to walk more – almost every evening. Herbs collected and dried. That was the intention—just to be this July—and somehow, it happened, exactly as it should.
Watercolor, thanks to Marley 🙂

Honestly, the cat effortlessly made me! What’s his/her name? You have a nice July gallery

Hazel, I love that! 😄 The cat does have a bit of a “main character” vibe, doesn’t it? His name is Marley, like Bob Marley 🙂
I’m glad you enjoyed the July gallery! Do you have pets that make regular appearances in your summer photos too?

Yes, we have two male cats and dogs. We have chickens and goats, too. I did photograph them sometimes. I’ve posted them here, too. Hugs to Marley

A great gallery, Ilze! I see that you are writing in English, is that how you usually work?

These are my notes in English — mainly because the book I’m reading is in English too! I often write down words or phrases I don’t remember, even if I never look at them again. Somehow, writing things down helps me learn better. 😊
And I learn for myself, so I don’t have exams 🙂 Enjoying the process 🙂
Also, I’m in client support – a lot to write in English 🙂

Apparently English is the most widely used.

No, it’s not the case! I have my panic attacks, and I don’t like being around a lot of people. I love lying. 🙂

I used to love being at rock concerts or where there are lots of people but that was long ago. I prefer my own company these days.

Relaxing photos showing a relaxed family . . . good for the soul and the blood pressure . . . love your very colloquial English . . .

Thank you, Eha — that’s exactly how July felt for us, slow and good for the soul. 💛 What’s been your favorite relaxing moment this summer?

A fine summer spent well, despite the hailstones

Thankfully, the hailstones didn’t hit our property. Friends 30 km away, however, had serious problems because of them.

We think that our to-do list needs to be long and we complete everything on the list. Why? Who says we have to?

Exactly — sometimes the best “to-do” list is an empty one. 😊 What helps you give yourself permission to slow down?
