Vacation Day 11 – Our Annual “Photoshoot”

Yesterday was supposed to be all about the photoshoot… but in reality, it turned into an Olympic-level event of outfit hunting. I spent the whole day digging through clothes, trying to match outfits to each kid’s personal “style” and “personality.” (Yes, sarcasm heavily implied.)

Before all that chaos, I picked my straw flowers — they look absolutely lovely right now. I even made a bouquet to bring along for the pictures.

This annual photoshoot is the one thing I’ve been asking for over the past four years. I’m not even sure if it really counts as a “photoshoot,” though… The camera is mine, I do all the editing, and my friend just happens to be behind the lens. In return, I’ll have to photograph her sometime — a fair trade, I suppose. Thank you, Maria!

I decided to try a little makeup today—something I almost never do. I grabbed an old concealer, a dried-out mascara, some random SPF-30, and a lipstick from Nelle’s makeup bag. I even used the mascara on my eyebrows. By all logic, it should have looked awful… but somehow it turned out beautifully natural. I love it! And the best part? I did it all myself!

Now, the photos are sitting patiently on my computer, waiting for me to sort through them. But since today is our 15th wedding anniversary, I’m not spending any time glued to the screen.

Have a lovely day!

    1. Thank you so much! 💛 I hope they capture a little bit of our everyday chaos and joy. Do you enjoy taking photos yourself, or do you prefer being behind the camera like me?
