Let’s get back to documenting my vacation days. Honestly, I don’t know any other purpose for this than just to remember what I did and what I achieved. It’s like scrapbooking — only in words.
So, the previous night I went to bed at 3 AM (not my brightest idea), and of course, I was woken up at 10 AM because the courier called. He had brought all the sewing things I ordered — shiny new pins, sewing feet, and sharp scissors. 🎉

The night before, I had already managed to make curtains for the bigger window, but now, with all these new tools in hand, I couldn’t resist. I still had some fabric left, so I made curtains for the smaller window too. I even ordered some more fabric online. I needed more.

Of course, all this meant that two hours before my brother and mother came over, the house was a complete mess. My plan was to clean everything up… but then I noticed Helmī carefully trying to fix her toy, Bil. The view was so sweet it just melted my heart. 💛 At that moment, I figured — the cleaning can wait, I let her be :). She made a pillow and blanket for the smaller toy and fixed all the toys that needed needle and thread 🙂 Love it!

In the end, we ended up eating dinner outdoors and having a lovely time on our new sofas. And you know what? No one minded one bit. Sometimes, the mess doesn’t matter when the heart feels full.

My heart melts watching Helmi so seriously working at the sewing machine . . , that you have taught her she does not need to go into a shop and buy fancy things made half the world away but can make what she needs herself her way! . . , and I am smiling – have always thought of myself as a ‘night-bird’ but for me 1am is usually the very limit , ,

Helmī definitely has her own unique style… normal things in the store are just not for her — unless it has a dog on it or it is a stuffed dog 😊 Then she’s all in. If it’s a corgi — she’s screaming with joy! 🐶 As for me, I try to head to bed around 11pm… but somehow it never works out, and I end up still awake at 3am 😅

Tell Helmi I FULLY understand ! Have had quite a few dogs but THE long-term favourite was a Pembroke corgi and master of our house called Sir Charles Slurp . . , well ‘Charlie’ . . .

Haha, I’ll tell Helmi! 😄 She’ll be curious — especially since we have our cat Marley at home. I think she’ll love hearing about Sir Charles Slurp… “Charlie” sounds like quite the character! 🐶

Your photographs are a delight to look at and you convey the sound message that sometimes mess IS okay because it is more important to make the most of the opportunities of the moment!

Cleaning can almost always wait.

Yes, it can…. sometimes I postpone it for a while… until I hate the look of the place so much – I have to clean. It’s easier to keep the renovated part clean… hard for the one that is concrete and dust… and we live in it 🙂

I love it that your daughter is sewing. And your soup looks yummy. What a good mama you are!

Thank you, Mary! Sometimes I think I’m not… too lazy, or too tired…
