Finally, this weekend we planted the hydrangeas and roses that had been waiting in their pots for far too long. 😅
I think I originally bought three roses and one hydrangea for the girls’ name day on 22 May. And there they were, waiting patiently in their pots while I kept postponing planting them. I just couldn’t decide where everything should go, and with everything else going on, finding the time and energy was almost impossible.
Then, on 30 September, we bought even more hydrangeas. And guess what? We finally planted them all on Sunday!

So, my hydrangea collection now includes Polar Bear (the one I was gifted in May), Hercules, Limelight, another Polar Bear (apparently, I didn’t know the one in May was Polar Bear), and Prime White.

As for the roses, I have three without name tags. No idea what varieties they are! I also dug up two and replanted them somewhere else. Hopefully, they will forgive me. Now everything is finally in the ground, and I can stop feeling guilty every time I walk past those pots. Let’s hope the plants settle in well before winter arrives!
And the best part, I can always dig out and plant somewhere else.
What gardening jobs are you doing now?

Weeding and deadheading daffodils and tulips!
Spring time!!!!
I love hydrangeas but so do our deer. I have a beautiful strawberry vanilla paniculata variety. This is the third year and it’s big and beautiful but if you go around the back side (away from the house), the deer ate all the buds! Let’s hope you are happy with the spots you chose!
Oh no! I have few deer coming our at winter time… I guess i need to add fence around them 🙂
My gardening job of the moment is dumping out all the dead plants from the summer heat.
Are you growing them in pots?
Cant wait to see what they will look like in the spring! I saved my favourite rose from the allotment (that I passed on to another gardener in August) and planted it in a pot at my balcony.
Wait a minute!!!! I have no memory of such thing! You won’t have garden anymore? If you are ready to travel – you can come and visit my garden 🙂 … a lot to do!
Yay! I know how satisfying that is, to finally plant something that has been waiting around. This week I hope to do that, with about a dozen ornamentals that have been in 4-inch pots for a month, waiting…. This afternoon I started preparing the area where I’m going to plant them. But as with your situation, I still don’t know exactly how I will arrange them. There are five different species, three of each, new plants — plus some others that I’ve had for a while, that I will move out of a big pot into the ground.
