Jāņi 2017. Celebrated at Salacgriva (my hometown), Latvia.
I made floral head wreaths (I don’t know another name!!!) for all girls and me and Jāņi cheese like planned. This time it Jāņi cheese wasn’t that good.

The first thing to do when I’ll get back home – find my Jāņi cheese recipe and post it here so I can find it whenever I’m celebrating Jāņi. More about Latvian midsummer traditions you can find here.

Girls look beautiful in their floral head wreaths. Where is the photo of Mamma in her head wreath?? The cheese looks pretty good to me! Glad you all had a great Jāņi celebration.

I’m the one with the camera 🙂 I guess it’s time to get the tripod and remote control to make family pictures :)…

I’m afraid you can’t try this recipe, it requires quark as it is in Latvia. Not cottage cheese. I’ll add pictures on how it looks 🙂 and maybe I’ll find old recipe how to make it at home.

Oh please do post the recipe. I can buy quark in Australia. Even if it can’t work for me, it might work for someone else.

Thank you, Jodi! Sometimes I forget that I’m amazing, but we all are! This is how Jāņu siers is decorated in Latvia. 🙂
