My kind of circus was in the town. A circus without animals! Latvia’s parliament, on May 11 reaffirmed its commitment to ban the use of animals in circuses. Since that there are only shows with clowns and acrobats allowed.

For the first time, my two girls (we got only two tickets it was sold out!) were in the circus. Janis brought them to the show and they were happy, so happy even I cried when they came home and try to explain what they saw and how interesting it was.
Animals need a place to stay, the sun, a home and a partner, and these needs cannot be met at the circus. Think about that…

Janis took the pictures and this one is the BEST of them… don’t ask! 🙂

What a great opportunity for your girls to see the circus. Good news about the ban on animals. I like the photo 😁

I agree with no animals. 😀
I don’t like clowns though so I usually stay away from the circus.

Me too! And I guess if girls want to go, then now it’s cruelty-free that is GOOD!

As a child, I loved the circus animal but as I grew older, it just seemed not a very nice life for them. Humans can make choices whether or not to perform; not so for the animals. The circus is better with just people. Cheers!

I can’t believe it’s cruelty free now! It was hard to push that through Latvian bureaucracy! But I’m glad that I signet petition!

We don’t get many circus come to our town but totally agree with wild animals performing. Think it’s ok for dogs and domestic animals.

Dear Ilze, I’ve saying that for many years! It’s the reason I’ve never taken my kids and grandkids to a circus. Animals belong in their natural habitat!

I remember holding a lion cub at a circus when I was about 5 years old or less. 40 years later I was thrilled to take my 4 year old to Cirque du Soleil to watch an extraordinary circus with not an animal in sight.

Shows without animal abusing is way better :). People do what they love! They choose to be there and show what they can!
