Our quality time together continues with the baking of gingerbread cookies. Girls loved this activity too!
I start to think that they are a bit like me after all 🙂 I really enjoyed doing it, I still remember how my granny (a bit grumpy lady) explained to me that I need to cut cookies starting from one side not in the middle! Also, the explanation came loudly and with emotions… at least I understood right away. I was only 5 years old.
Now I’m not as my granny but I showed and asked politely 100 times to not cut cookies wastefully… try to cut as much as possible by cutting close together…
I would say, my grumpy grandmothers, approach worked better 🙂 but I guess my girls where more playful 🙂
And here we are… ready to open our Christmas pop-up cafe in … few years 🙂

P.S. We were so “in hurry” that forgot our aprons! 🙂

That’s lovely. I still make cookies with my daughter and she’s an old teenager now. Great times. Jonny

Loving this continuing saga. Maybe non grumpy is better :-). I cannot remember cooking with my grandma but developing photos with her had some similarities. She could be grumpy too but I owe a lot to her.

I have to say, you can always reroll out the dough after they made their cuts in the middle so who cares? They looked like they were having fun and that’s what matters, quality family time! 😀

Re-roll is annoying if you want to make few pans of cookies 😀

Raw dough eating is necessary 🙂 I couldn’t eat (the raw eggs, but I never believed that!) so my girls can eat (no eggs in this recipe)!
