So, I was off the blogging cause I “made” Nelles’ birthday party! This was my 12th kids birthday party I have thrown. Well, I would say I never learn! Still doing it by myself, still cooking, baking cakes, making decorations, cleaning, planting flowers, etc… even when I don’t have much time left. This is called love, I guess… I hope so… cause people here come and call me crazy :).

47 people invited. Nelle was happy to know that her godmother Viola will came all the way from Germany to greet her.
For the party, I made Latvian traditional party food like rosols, crab stick salad and herring under a fur coat’. I spend half the day thinking how to make one big cake and then brother asked me: “Why do you need one big!? Just make two regular!”. Thank you brother, you know I did! I made two cakes, but instead of making two the same I made two different, one was honey cake and the other Karaliene (Queens’ Cake). This was my first time making Karaliene, but since I love store bought I decide to try. It was good, except for cream part, I would double it next time! 🙂 Honey cake – good as always!
Not all made it to the party 🙂 but for Nelle it was important to have Viola and Ome Mārīte. And they were there 🙂
We had few games to play but the most fun was “faces”. They had to choose the number from 1-10 and then show the face on the plate. That was funny!

I was rushing through the day as a photographer, party planner, game organizer, chef, servant, etc. that ended up with me having a headache. But don’t worry – I won’t learn…

I’m quite sure you won’t! Looks a wonderful party, as I knew it would be. The photos are superb. The food looks fabulous. And those multi roles, including ‘serving maid’, is just as I would have expected. Lovely that Nelle’s godparents came from Germany. Now you are waiting till September :-))

🙂 Yes, Nelle was happy to see Viola (Janis cousin) that lives in Germany and Atis too (my brother) that lives in my home town Salacgriva. Atis is way closer, but Nelle is happy to see him, cause he is usually busy in the summer time!

🙂 Nelle was happy! She was inviting guests since Linnas birthday and I was – OMG, too much, too much… but at the end – I guess I wanted it that big, cause all the guests were people I really wanted to meet and also – the FIRST outside PARTY is usually Nelles and it’s big 🙂 … somehow 🙂
