I feel incredibly lucky to live just a five-minute walk from the forest. This city beautifully balances urban life with natural beauty, allowing me to escape into the woods whenever I need a break from the busyness of everyday life.

Taking these nature walks brings me a sense of peace and grounding. Whether it’s the golden hues of autumn or the vibrant blooms of spring, each season transforms the landscape in its own way. I cherish the simple joy of stepping into the forest, leaving my worries behind, and reconnecting with nature.
Living near such beauty is a privilege,
Ilze

I’m in the same situation overhere. I live in a small village but I only have to walk a few minutes to find a lot of walking paths in nature reserves or a forrest. Just like you said, it’s a real privilege. I need those moments to find some peace of mind…

That sounds lovely! It really is a privilege to be so close to nature, isn’t it? Having those peaceful walks nearby makes such a difference, especially when life gets overwhelming. I feel the same way – those moments outdoors really help me reset and clear my mind.

Is the town below your town, Ilze? It’s nice that it is so close to the forest!

Our flat is near “green” on the right of the city 🙂 Our house is a bit further away on the left. If we look at the picture I added to the blog. Been busy working on the house! I hope you are doing ok!

I am well, thank you, Ilze! I would like to see your town. You said that Latvia was once a part of Russia I think, so your language must be the same? Is it called Crilic? Sorry, I have no idea.

The Latvian language is our language, we have our roots and nothing to do with Russia. They just occupied us! Like they trying to do for a few years now with Ukraine!

Oh, I see now. Apologies, Ilze, I don’t want to offend you. Crazy Americans, right? 🫣

That’s definitely crazy! I can relate—I’m not great at naming countries in Africa for example. You’re a big country, and we know you well, but we’re just a small one over here with only 1.8 million people (I just checked, and we seem to be getting smaller and smaller)! 😊 Las Vegas – 0,6 milion 🙂 Imagine? Our city – near forest 7500 people 🙂

I will include a link here if that is okay, I hope. It shows the actual population over many years, Las Vegas has too many people like me who move here for the wonderful year round climate! 😎🌴
