In my region, snow tends to make its grand entrance earlier than in my hometown near the Gulf of Riga. The colder temperatures here usually mean the snow stays longer, too. But today, my hometown is taking the spotlight—it’s all white! Mom sent me a few pictures:

Snow has already fallen there, blanketing everything in a soft, wintry coat. I’m not sure if it will stick around, but for now, it’s a magical sight. Meanwhile, my region remains snow-free for the moment, though I know it won’t be long before winter arrives here in full force.
What about you—has snow arrived where you are?

Snow does dress the world up in wonder, doesn’t it? Lovely photos.

Yes, it really does! I can’t wait for the snow to blanket my yard—it’ll finally hide the not-so-pretty construction site look. 😊

We had our first snow in the valley 6 days ago. It didn’t stick here at home, but it did further north where I was birding that morning. Your hometown looks magical blanketed in the first snow of the season.

How exciting to catch the first snow while birding! Even if it didn’t stick, it must have been beautiful to see. Thank you—my hometown really does look magical under its first snow. There’s something so special about the season’s first real blanket (not talking about few snowflakes) of white!

Oh my gosh, I finally figured out how to comment on your posts. I have to drill down through a lot of links to get here. But those are fabulous photos.
Where I live, we don’t get a lot of snow in town–usually. So far we’ve had almost non. But the mountains nearby have snow (and today rain on top of snow🥹). The ski area even opened, but with very minimal coverage and only 1 lift running. It’s no where near as charming here as it is in your hometown.

Thank you for taking the time to comment—I’m so glad you figured it out! 😊 It’s always nice to hear from you.
Your weather sounds quite mixed this season! Rain on top of snow can be such a mess—hopefully, the ski area gets more snow soon to make it worth the trip. It’s interesting how different winters can be depending on where you are. Our hometown may look charming under the snow, but trust me, the freezing temperatures make it less dreamy when you’re shoveling! 😅
Here’s to hoping for the perfect balance of snow and sunshine where you are! ☃️✨

Brilliant observation about shoveling. And sorry, I somehow managed to deluge your post with 3 replies. Geez, you’d think I was a neophyte at this stuff.

Don’t worry, I totally know how it feels when you try to comment and it just won’t go through! 😊 And no worries at all about the extra replies—sometimes it happens! I’m just glad you found the way to comment 🙂

Wow, 80 degrees sounds so warm for this time of year! 🌞 We’ve had quite the opposite here—cooler weather and even some frost in the mornings. Hopefully, you’ll get some rain soon to balance things out. In the meantime, enjoy the sunshine! ☀️😊

We had a cold front that drops temps into the 60’s during the day but today it’s going to be 80 again. In the 80’s the cooler temps started mid-Sept but each year it takes longer and longer to cool off. 🙂

Ah, the first snow! It’s always exciting, even if it doesn’t stick around. Hopefully, we’ll get some more soon. How did you feel about it—excited for winter, or a bit too early for snow?
