        1. I’m so glad to hear the week has gone well for you! It must feel great to wrap up the paperwork and finally have some time for Christmas decorations. Do you have a theme or specific look you’re going for this year?

          1. thanks Ilze! it does feel good to wrap up towards the end of the year, although i find myself sleeping on my couch alot haha.

i generally don’t have a theme during Christmas, i often just repeat what i did the year before with some minor alterations. But more or less, i’ve settled into a familiar decorative pattern.

how are you guys doing? are you going anywhere for the holidays? parents? relatives?

            1. You’re welcome! It must feel nice to start wrapping things up as the year winds down, even if the couch has become your favorite spot for a nap! Haha. It sounds like you’ve found a great rhythm with your Christmas decorations. Sometimes sticking to what works with just a few tweaks makes it feel even more cozy and familiar.

We’re doing well, thanks for asking! We’re not going anywhere for the holidays this year—I’m very much a homebody when it comes to Christmas. I love hosting, probably a bit too much, which often leads to a migraine! But I’ve learned that cooking together with everyone is so much more enjoyable than when they’re just sitting at the table. It makes the whole experience feel more relaxed and fun. How about you? Do you like hosting, or do you prefer visiting family or relatives?

                1. That sounds lovely! My Christmas is for close family only, no friends, and it’s usually just for 2-3 days. I hope your mother can stay longer this time—how long has it been since you last had a longer visit with her? Does she live far away?

                  1. she lives 2 hours away from me and when combined with her social schedule and travelling, it is tough to have time to spend with her where she has my undivided attention. it’s actually the same for me with family and friends and Mother for 2-3 days most of the year. but as you know, for people you really care about 2-3 days is really short :/

                    1. I completely understand that feeling. My mom also lives about 2.5 hours away, but with two public transport changes, it can take her up to 5 hours to get to us. It’s always such an effort, but it’s so worth it. This year 2-3 days will feel a lot. Hopefully, these moments, no matter how brief, still create lasting memories!
