Gardening Season Is Starting!

It’s that time of year — the gardening season is here! And for me, it’s extra special because it’s my very first gardening season in this house. But as exciting as it sounds, it also means one thing… it’s going to be hard! Everything needs to be built from scratch—nothing is prepared, which feels a bit overwhelming. And honestly, I’m not a fan of overthinking it… it just makes me feel nauseous!

I hope to build a kitchen garden at a fraction of the cost by using creative and resourceful methods!

I’m really starting to feel the urge to make a change, especially when I look out the window at the view. I can’t wait any longer! I’m thinking of starting with cutting the grass. Sure, it’s bumpy and far from perfect, but I’m not looking for a perfect green patch. I’m looking for character and spirit, something that gives the garden life and uniqueness.

This year, my goal is to have a kitchen garden, greenhouse, and a small furrow field up and running. I know… sounds a lot… I hope Jānis will help me :). Then, over the next five years, I hope to add a lovely cottage garden, grass, and firepit to the mix. It’s going to take time (is there somtehing in my life that don’t take time?), but I’m excited for the journey ahead!

Here’s to a season of growth—both in the garden and for me!

    1. I’m so glad you can comment and like my posts now! I really missed that interaction. There’s a lot to do with the garden, but I’m planning to take it one step at a time, not all at once. I remember you had zucchini and carrots planted last time. Are you planning to try again this year? You only need a big bucket for one zucchini, after all! 🙂
