No Time to Lose: 5 Days Until Nelle’s Party!

Last week felt like a whirlwind of everything but home. We were constantly on the move—errands, appointments, work – community days in Riga, quick visits, spontaneous plans… I barely had time to catch my breath, let alone sit down and rest. Now that a new week has started, I can feel the tiredness setting in.

But guess what? No time to be tired—because this Saturday is Nelle’s birthday party!

Yes. Five days to go.

Five days to create something magical, memorable, and totally “Nelle.” I still haven’t nailed down all the details, but I have ideas swirling in my head like confetti. Decorations, food, activities, a cake—of course—and that special something to make it feel personal and joyful.

So while I’d love a quiet tea moment with a blanket and zero responsibilities, this week is all about pulling together a party that Nelle will remember with a smile. And I know, once it’s done, the tiredness will be worth it—just like those late nights watching La Femme Nikita, remember? 😉

Let the countdown begin!

  1. I have observed with interest how birthdays seem to fall in families in clusters, for example in my family we have a bunch of birthdays close together in June, then another lot at the end of November – beginning of December. Astrologists might argue that this is normal, due to the compatibility of those star signs, but I don’t really buy that. Your family also seems to be following this rule, which can be challenging (and exhausting!). Anyway, happy birthday Nelle! Hope all goes perfectly!

    1. Thank you so much! 😊 And yes—our family definitely follows that clustered birthday pattern too! It makes certain months feel like a whirlwind of cake, wrapping paper, and celebrations – like March! I’m not sure I buy the astrology explanation either, but it is funny how these patterns show up. Maybe it’s just life’s way of keeping things interesting (and parents on their toes!).
