Does anyone remember La Femme Nikita? The TV series from the late ’90s and early 2000s? I lived for that show when I was in high school.
It aired late at night, way past a responsible bedtime for someone who had to be up early for school. But I didn’t care. I was obsessed. I never skipped an episode. No matter how tired I knew I’d be the next day, I’d stay up just to see what would happen to Nikita, Michael, and the rest of the secretive, shadowy world of Section One.

There was just something about it—the style, the music, the tension, the strange coldness of the world they lived in… and of course, the slow-burn between Nikita and Michael. I didn’t have a term for it back then, but I guess you’d call it “gritty cyber-noir espionage” now. To me, it was just everything.
It’s funny how a show can stick with you like that, years later. I don’t think I’ve rewatched it since, but I still get that nostalgic rush just thinking about it. It was one of those shows that made me feel like I had a secret of my own—a secret world I visited once a week, full of danger and drama and quiet intensity.
So—did anyone else watch La Femme Nikita? Do you remember it like I do?

My binge was Melrose Place with Heather Locklear.
Well, we didn’t had much options, I liked Saved by the bell 😉
I’m 20 years older than you so I never watched Save by the Bell. But it’s fun the look back at the shows we loved when we were younger.
Back in the day, we didn’t have many options—whatever the channel showed, I watched. Funny to think I haven’t had a TV in over 20 years now! 😊
That is pretty amazing. I watch 2 shows before bed and 1 hour of news. I don’t need anymore and some days I don’t need that but still watch to be with my husband.
I’m not familiar with it, not sure we had it here, but I did have shows I HAD to watch each week. I still remember them.
I so get it! I watched a little bit of La Femme Nikita, and I remembered 🙂
I remember the name but didn’t watch the program…
Yeah, it had kind of a niche audience, I think. But the name alone still gives me a flash of those moody opening credits! 😄
Can’t remember even, so probably not 🙂
🙂 I think I watched it because of her – Nikita.
I was well past it by then 🙂
Haha, fair enough! 🙂 I think I was exactly the right age to fall headfirst into the drama and action of it all.
I remember watching La Femme Nikita. It was on late here too.
Cool! I wanted to look like her and be the agent like her… I was 13 🙂 Like Nelle 🙂
