I Bought a Vintage Sofa Set!

So… I finally found and bought a vintage sofa set! I was thrilled when I saw the photos—charming, with character and perfect curves – just like me :). But when it arrived… let’s just say it doesn’t look exactly like in the ad. 🙈 It’s still ok…

I paid 300 EUR for delivery (they came all the way from Lithuania!), and honestly, I’m not in the mood to start a fight over it. The color, even if not exactly what I imagined, actually works quite well in my room. So… I’m keeping them!

I’ve already found a cleaner who will come and do a deep clean. They are really dirty (seller told, it’s not that bad). Fingers crossed that helps! 🤞

But if not? I might just roll up my sleeves and do a DIY makeover—change the fabric and give them a fresh new look. From what I know, I’ll need some upholstery fabric and an electric staple gun. I might be crazy enough to try and sucseed 🙂

All of us love them! They are so comfy!

Let’s see where this goes. Either way, I’m calling it a charming chapter in my home renovation story. Finishing! The best part 🙂 💛

What do you think?

  1. OMG! I am way, way, way older than you and actually love modern, Italianate furniture but you have a bargain !!! I remember a very similar set in our living room in Tallinn in my early childhood! This has terrific ‘bones’ and I personally love the colour and, if it will carefully clean, leave the old fabric! The colour is beautifully neutral and fits in with your room. I love the shape and size of the chairs and your living room is large enough for the pieces to look right!

      1. Yes, in the rooftop where it is my workspace. I love its ambience, the mountain views in front and the birds that sing with me. Ah, varied soundscape as I said in one of my blogs here. My neighbors are unpredictable, too

        1. That sounds like such a beautiful and inspiring workspace — mountain views, birdsong, and a changing soundscape must make every day feel different. 😊 I can imagine your neighbors add a bit of surprise to the mix too! What’s the most unexpected thing you’ve heard from them so far?

    1. Thank you, Mary! I hadn’t thought of how well they pair with the China cabinet, cause it’s around the corner and I can’t see 🙂 —but you’re right. Do you often mix vintage pieces with older heirlooms in your space?
