Vacation Day 3: Primrose Flowers, Sofa Dreams & A Bath

This morning started with collecting the delicate flowers of the common evening-primrose. Their soft yellow petals feel like little pieces of sunshine—wild, gentle, and fleeting.

Then came a lovely breakfast straight from the garden, followed (of course) by my favorite ritual: coffee with ice cream. ☕🍦

All the sofa cushions are finally dry and clean! I forgot to take proper photos—of course—but I did manage to snap one. The only thing is… I’m not really in love with the cushion color. It’s not that they don’t fit the space—they just don’t feel like me.

Since I do own a sewing machine and a serger (though they’ve been living with my mother-in-law for the past seven years!), I think it’s time to bring them back home and start using them again. I even ordered a few fabrics already—let’s see what I can create. ✂️🧵

Went for a walk, gathered my 10K steps. Saw a deer on the road!

In the middle of the day, I treated myself to a bath and watched My Oxford Year on Netflix. Just slow, soft hours, exactly what I needed.

How was your day?

    1. Thank you, John! I’m glad you like the color — maybe it will grow on me too…. NOPE 😉 Do you ever change something in your home just because it “feels” more like you, even if it already looks nice?

  1. Am smiling at your breakfast as mine almost always is a huge mug of strong black coffee and an open sandwich, usually of herring or anchovies on dark rye bread 🙂 ! Love your walk and the childhood memory of the same flowers . . . and I just love the current colour of your cushions . . , to each their own . . .

    1. Your breakfast sounds delicious — I can almost taste rye bread! I love how food can be so tied to memories. Do you still see common evening primroses growing near where you live now?

        1. It’s interesting how much botany changes from place to place — I guess it makes those familiar plants even more special when you get to see them. Do you have any favorite local plants or flowers where you live that remind you of home or bring you joy?
