At night was heavenly—but not in the way you might think. The rain came down in a steady, soothing drizzle, and the air felt cool and damp, like the first whispers of autumn. Roads suffered… again.

This morning—or perhaps more accurately, early afternoon, since we woke up late it was sunny! I went out with Helmī to the greenhouse. Our mission: to collect cucumbers. And what a small triumph we had! We found 10 beautiful cucumbers hiding among the vines. Helmī dutifully packed them into a bag and headed home, but I couldn’t resist lingering a little longer.

Curiosity got the better of me. I decided to peek around, just to see if there might be another lone cucumber left behind. To my surprise—and delight—I found 32 more cucumbers! I called Helmī back, and he was absolutely shocked. Together, we packed them all into a bag and brought them home. Nice!

Even on a wet, chilly day, there’s magic in these small moments. The garden reminds me that life continues to grow, quietly, patiently, no matter the weather outside. And sometimes, it rewards a little extra attention with hidden treasures—and a very full cucumber harvest.

Ilze, I love cucumbers. Mama planted it in the backyard, and we had a harvest of it. Its crunchiness is delicious. Happy Monday!
