Snow was falling quietly when I noticed a family of deer near the house. I was watching from the living room door, camera in hand, when they suddenly ran off — not because of me, but startled by the neighbor’s dog barking.

In the deep snow, they didn’t look elegant at all. More like tumbling and stumbling, legs everywhere, trying to get away as fast as possible. Awkward, chaotic, very real.
And still — a wild family passing through a snowy evening, right outside my door. Lovely!

Absolutely gorgeous sight – they look so gentle . . . wonder how cold they feel during the freezing and dark winter months !

Its nice to see deer around your home, I had that in Michigan. Dogs are always annoying aren’t they…

Nice shots Ilze ! that must be a great feeling, having wildlife so close to home. A bit jealous, I admit 🙂

Thank you! Don’t be 🙂 It’s not like they are here all the time… but when they are – I enjoy it! 🙂 Latvia isn’t that far 🙂
