Today is the 1st of June, and just like that, school is over.
The kids are home!
I’m happy for them. Summer holidays always felt magical when I was a child — long days, freedom, adventures, and not having to think about school for a while. Now, as a parent, I see it a little differently too. I hope they will behave. 🙂
The funny thing is that while their holidays have started, I still need to work. So tomorrow morning I will sit down at my computer as usual, while three children suddenly have an entire summer stretching ahead of them. I have a feeling there will be a lot of snack requests, sibling discussions, and “Mom, can I…” questions between meetings.
Still, it feels good. Summer is finally here. Enjoy our celebration from 2017!

The garden is growing, the days are long, and there is a whole season ahead of us. We don’t have big plans. Some gardening, some house renovation, family celebrations, swimming, and hopefully plenty of ordinary summer moments.
To everyone on this side of the globe, happy summer! And to those on the other side, I wish you the nicest winter possible — with warm drinks, cosy blankets, and good books.
Happy June!
Ilze

Happy June to you and your beautiful children.
Thank you! I hope they will have a lovely time and I won’t loose my mind trying to deal with everything.
You will do well with whatever comes. Hugs
The happiest days for you, mum! I remember those summer days away from school, glorious they were! I think the summer holiday for kids should be longer.
