When the Storm Says Stay Home

Tonight we were supposed to go to a jazz concert – 150 kilometers away from home. We had everything planned, tickets bought but then the weather changed.

Not just a little summer storm with some rain and thunder.

This was the kind of storm that makes your phone ring with emergency notifications — the kind where the government message says please stay inside.

Heavy rain, strong winds, brunches and leave were falling… and suddenly travelling somewhere for a concert didn’t feel like the right thing to do.

So we cancelled our plans and stayed home.

I was looking forward to the live jazz evening with local big bands and big band from Lithuania… But since I’m struggling I was happy to enjoy the simple warm evening inside.

The storm can have the stage. And I love it!

  1. I’m glad that things worked out for you guys, Ilze. I saw a news clip about Latvia not accepting immigrants and having to to with an EU agreement. I hope you feel better and have a great weekend. 🙏🏻☺️
