Embracing Autumn: My Time for Jigsaw Puzzles

As autumn graces us with its presence, painting the world in rich oranges, deep reds, and golden yellows, I feel a delightful urge to retreat indoors and indulge in my favorite cozy activity: jigsaw puzzles. After a summer filled with outdoor adventures and sun-soaked days, the arrival of cooler weather invites a comforting shift, a time to unwind and reconnect with myself through the art of puzzling.

Jigsaw puzzles are more than just a delightful challenge; they offer a much-needed escape from the chaos of everyday life. Each piece I connect brings a sense of accomplishment, a moment of tranquility amidst the bustle of responsibilities. Completing a puzzle not only sharpens my problem-solving skills but also provides a meditative space to reflect and grow, bringing a wonderful sense of order to my day.

To enhance my puzzling experience, I use a puzzle board that adds a layer of flexibility. This way, I can work on my puzzle at the table and easily move it when needed—especially important since we’re currently navigating a renovation site. It’s a handy solution that allows me to keep my puzzle progress intact while accommodating the chaos around me.

Are there any fellow jigsaw puzzlers out there? I’d love to hear your favorite puzzles or tips for making the most of this cozy autumn pastime!

Happy puzzling!

    1. I would suggest choosing puzzles that feature clear images and themes that might resonate with the person’s life or interests, enhancing their enjoyment. I do choose my puzzles based on how they look primarily 🙂

    1. I do too! Well.. I wait for retirement (loooooooong wait) to do just 3 things – sit in my perfect garden and listen to the music peacefully (I haven’t started on the garden yet), puzzle and have dinner parties 🙂

            1. My go-to puzzle size for the weekend is usually 500 pieces. In the Championship, participants can finish a 500-piece puzzle in under two hours, but it usually takes around 4-6 hours for me. I like to work on it slowly, enjoying the process without rushing or doing it all in one sitting. For beginners, I’d recommend starting with less than a 300-piece puzzle. Let me know if you decide to do a puzzle 🙂
