Roe deer near our house seems to have a sixth sense—one that specifically detects when I’m holding a camera. It’s like they’re on a mission to make sure their majestic beauty is never captured.
Yesterday, I decided to outsmart them. I crept out of the house as quietly as possible, camera in hand, ready to finally snap that perfect shot. I barely made it five steps before one of them looked up, froze, and then bolted like I’d just announced a deer tax audit.

“Wait, wait, don’t run away! I just want to picture you!” I called out, like some desperate wildlife photographer who forgot deer don’t speak human. Predictably, they didn’t wait. They ran. Fast.
Still determined, I tried to be as still as possible… nothing. The deer were long gone, probably gossiping in the woods about the “crazy human” who wouldn’t take a hint.
Maybe I’ll have better luck next time.

Thank you! Capturing the reality of a moment or place always feels meaningful—there’s so much beauty in authenticity. 😊It would be nice to have not just the deer butt, but also the face in the shot!
