On December 20, 2024, I wrote about walking the middle path when it comes to vaccinations—about balancing research, personal beliefs, and practical needs. Today, that path continues as Jānis and the kids are in Riga for their next round of shots.

Jānis is the one handling the logistics. It’s a relief because I don’t have to manage the trip, the waiting rooms, or the after-care fuss. Worry because, well, I’m still a mom, and worrying comes naturally.

The decision to move forward with these vaccines wasn’t made lightly, but after our first round, things went smoothly, and the kids handled it well. That doesn’t erase my concerns, but it does reinforce the importance of sticking to what feels right for our family.

They are having fun in Riga while I am enjoying my “Not at Work” day with cleaning… It’s such a mess, and I want to get everything ready for the next work week to ease the stress and everyday life.
I got a quiet evening yesterday, which I should have spent resting or doing something productive. Instead, I found myself checking social media and binge-watching movies till 3 AM… Let’s call that relaxing.
I know they’ll be home soon, a little tired, probably a little grumpy, but overall fine. And we’ll continue walking this middle path—one decision at a time.

Thank you! It’s only their second time getting vaccines, but they’re handling it so well! That’s exactly what I like to see—they just get it done without fuss.

Once it’s a routine every year, they expect it and it’s no big deal. I think having a fun day along with it also helps.

Not always an easy decision.

Since these are mandatory vaccines, it was easier…

All went smoothly; they have to be back on Tuesday. They had the Mantoux test. As I said – regular stuff that we skipped so far.
