Today, I twisted my friend’s arm again for a walk – but this time, she could walk way more than yesterday! We sat down in the middle, but then continued to walk.
By the way I came prepared – I brought her a little gift for her name day. You know me, sometimes I forget things, and yesterday, I left it behind. But today, I remembered! I grew this basil from seed! The aroma is devine!
And guess what? She finally gave me my birthday present! I know, I know, it’s a bit late, but honestly, it made the moment even sweeter. There’s something about these little exchanges that just feels so special. It’s not about the gifts, obviously! We just laugh at how unimportant it is 🙂
Just walking, chatting, and sharing a few laughs. That’s what friendship is about, right? Then we sat in her garden, her dad was visiting – keeping an eye on here while she is getting better. And he is fun! Late 50s and full of energy, loves to keep the garden tidy and has a great humor! And I think this is exactly what I needed today – a good walk, sunshine, some quality time, and a little bit of unexpected happiness.

It all sounds wonderful and how thoughtful of you to take your friend a basil plant. Reading about her giving you a birthday gift and then seeing the cat pic right beneath it I first thought she had gifted you a kitty, lol.

Thank you for your kind words! Bringing the basil plant felt like a small but meaningful gesture. And that’s such a fun thought—I can see how the cat picture might suggest it was a gift! While I didn’t receive a kitty, encountering that adorable cat added an extra touch of happiness to our day.
