I was ready to sit down and reflect on my intentions—only to realize I never made any for March! Life has been busy, and somehow, March slipped right past me. But that just means it’s the perfect time to go back and review what I had planned for February. Let’s see how things went!

I think the trips to Riga to see my dentist spoiled it all.
Personal Goals
- Better Sleep – I wanted to improve my sleep routine, and while I had a few good nights, consistency was still an issue. Definitely something to keep working on.
- Healthier Eating – I aimed to cook more nutritious meals and cut back on quick, unhealthy options. I did better than before, trying out new meals, but there’s still room for improvement.
- More Movement – I made an effort to stretch and take walks, and when I did, I felt great. But I wasn’t as consistent, and I think I went for just 2 walks in February.
Family & Relationships
- Spending More Time with the Kids – With winter still lingering, I wanted to create cozy, fun moments at home. We had some great activities together, and I’m glad I prioritized this.
- Date Night with Jānis – Let’s be honest… this one didn’t really happen. Life was too chaotic, and we didn’t find the time.
Gardening
- Planning for Spring – I mapped out what I wanted to plant and where, which felt like progress!
- Preparing Raised Beds – Too early to build them, but planning was in full swing.
- Seed Sorting & Testing – I checked my seed collection and did germination tests, so I was ready when planting time arrived.
Creativity & Sharing
- Instagram in Latvian – I wanted to post more in Latvian and engage with local people. I did post a bit, though not as much as I initially intended. Still, a step forward!
Renovation
- Keeping Up with the Process – February was unpredictable, and I knew renovation plans would shift. They definitely did, but I’ve learned to go with the flow and not worry, boys will know what to do 🙂
Final Thoughts
Even though I skipped making goals for March, looking back at February reminds me that progress happens even when things don’t go perfectly. Some goals were met, others weren’t, but life keeps moving. Now, maybe it’s time to set some intentions for April…

Ilze, this one of a series of posts about my Great Aunt’s journey from the Baltic States during World War II. I hope you will find it and the comments interesting. A different big struggle
