Some things in the kitchen carry more than just coffee or biscuits.
My green cups with the golden rim were never just cups. They always reminded me a little of France — french bistros. The kind of places where cups are sturdy, used every day, and part of life rather than decoration. That is Apilco! Truly used in bistros!
The very first one was sent to me by my blogging friend Roger — a small, thoughtful gift that started it all. He passed away in 2020, but that cup… it stayed. And with it, a quiet connection.

Over time, more green pieces found their way to me. Not planned, just collected along the way. Like this jar I saw on Internet! I bought this biscuit jar from Apilco — green, with that same soft golden rim. It felt instantly familiar, like it had always been part of the story.

It’s not about matching sets or perfect styling. It’s about feeling.
A bit of France.
A hint of a bistro.
A memory that stayed.
Now, when I pour coffee or my kids reach for a biscuit, it’s all there — quietly woven into everyday life.

P.S. Jānis hurted his back while moving heavy (around 250l but tightly pressed) mulch bags for me, so he got his coffee in Apilco this morning 🙂

Great idea. I hope Janis heals fast and learns a lesson. 250 pounds is too much to lift. That is what wheel barrels are for. 🙂

I’m so sorry to hear you’re dealing with back pain every day — that’s such a heavy thing to carry. I truly hope you have moments of relief and gentleness in your days. Thank you as well for your kind wishes for my husband — we’re taking it one day at a time.
