Late February always feels like a strange in-between season.
The sky stays grey, snow lies heavy on the ground, and it often feels as if winter might never end. The days move slowly, and everything becomes a little dull and tiring.
This year felt exactly like that. Snow kept falling, trees were covered in ice, and I found myself waiting for only one thing — the beginning of a new sowing season.

Seed packets are ready, plans are forming, and thoughts of green life arrive long before the weather changes.
And then suddenly — the next day, the sun appears.
Bright, warm, almost unbelievable for late February. Drops begin falling from the roof, the snow quietly settles, and even though temperatures are still below freezing, something in the air has shifted.
That first feeling.
The quiet realization that spring might actually be close.
In this video, I captured that transition — from the heaviness of winter to the anticipation of spring.

Beautiful – I know that feeling, when you have had months of snow, just longing for some colour to appear in nature, and the joy when the first flowers appear. I’m also impressed by your cat – he (she?) seems to have real cattitude!

Marley — our 9-year-old outdoor cat.
He technically lives outside, but in winter he moves indoors and spends most of his days sleeping on the sofas. In summer, he mainly comes inside to loudly demand food 🙂
Neutered.
The first drops of melting water are falling from the roof. I honestly can’t remember the last time I felt this kind of joy. We barely had snow last year — or the year before — only fleeting moments. But this winter, the snow truly arrived… and it stayed. For a long time 🙂

We will be okay, thank you. Spring is on its way. The sap is rising — as we say here, when the juices begin to flow, energy returns and life slowly wakes up again.
How are you!?
