Heat, Hay, Sweet Peas & a Friendly Stork

It’s so hot here in Latvia today — +29°C (84°F for my USA friends). I don’t think I’m built for this kind of heat! 🥵

On the bright side, it’s the perfect weather for everyone who needs to cut the grass and make hay. ☀️

This evening, the temperature finally dropped to +20°C (68°F), and after such a hot day it actually felt a little chilly. What a relief!

Another little joy: my sweet peas have started to bloom. 🌸 I absolutely love their fragrance! I picked a small bouquet and brought it inside, and now the whole room is filled with their wonderful scent. I definitely need to grow more next year.

While picking peas, I also spotted a stork. ❤️ I love how they seem to let me get just a little bit closer than most wild birds before flying away. Those little encounters always make my day.

          1. I’m hanging in right now. Haing several conditions kick up at the same time. The house is much closer to being home. We still have so much to pack that’s in the garage. Thanks for asking.

            1. I’m sorry to hear you’re dealing with several health issues all at once. I hope things start settling down for you soon. ❤️ It must feel good to see the house becoming more like a home, even if there are still plenty of boxes waiting in the garage. Renovations and moving always seem to take longer than we expect! Which room feels the most “finished” to you now?

  1. Ilze – you know I am grinning! What wonderful summer photos BUT 29C is barely warm, surely! Hot is in the upper 30s and too hot when it gets into 40s 🙂 ! At 20C I put the heater on 🙂 ! Do love the photo of the stork . . . used to love seeing them . . .
