I bought my first sewing machine — a Brother FS-40! 😊
It arrived yesterday, but I was too tired and busy to open the box.
This morning, however, I couldn’t wait any longer. I unpacked it right away! I’m excited, happy, and a little curious about my sewing skills. I did some sewing in high school, but those days are far behind me now. Has it really been about 12 years? Time flies!

Of course, I already have big plans.
My first sewing project will be a dust cover for my Silhouette Cameo. Living in the center of Riga means there’s always plenty of dust around, and I’d like to protect my machine when it’s not in use. I’m hoping to make a cover that can stay attached while I use the Cameo, so I won’t have to remove it completely every time.
We’ll see how it goes! With a bit of patience, I hope I’ll be able to make it work. And if the project turns out well, I might even share a tutorial on how to make a dust cover for a Silhouette Cameo.
I’ve already started:
- Made a design.
- Chosen some nice fabric.
- Cut the largest rectangular piece.
- Figure out what to do next… tomorrow, tomorrow! 😄
Wish me luck!
