DIY: Oven & Hob section / Part 2

Two days ago I shared how hard it was to get going on this oven & hob section. Now I’m up and running :). I measured, I cut and glued all the boards together to make a countertop for this section a few days ago.

Yesterday it was sanding & oiling. Is there anyone who likes to be covered in man glitter (sawdust, sanding dust)? I don’t like the dust but the whole process is so satisfying. This time there was millimeter difference between glued boards and I sand that down. I want my countertop to be smooth. All the other kitchen section in my DIY project are oiled and now the new section also has an oil finish.

Right now we are in the car heading to my moms birthday party!

  1. I’ve never heard of anyone using wood for a countertop. In America, we all assume you have to use Formica, Granite, Tile, or some other stone. I really like how you dig right in and do things yourself.

    1. Thank you! It requires more attention! You can’t leave it wet and it’s get dirty easier. Also stains is the main problem with countertop. But. I love natural things. We will see how it will look later on 🙂
