This year I made Santa’s beard countdown calendar. A bit different Advent calendar – no presents, no treats – just countdown. I can’t decide whether girls would love to see the date of the day (like a calendar) or answer to the question: how much days till Christmas!? There are Advent Sundays when we lit the candle and those days are painted in red color in countdown calendar.
Also, I think they will give up and I made a smaller countdown calendar for last 5 days. If you want to make your own count of stripes to cut – then I have you covered – blank countdown calendar.
The previous year I made one calendar for the whole family, but now I can print as much as I need. Every girl can have her calendar to cut. I’ll write the name on Santas hat and we will be ready to countdown on 1st of December.

This is a great idea, thank you! I don’t like to give treats or presents in an advent calendar, either. Last year I printed some Christmas-themed jokes and put the pieces of paper into the advent elf and she enjoyed a giggle each day 🙂

That’s a good idea I can make this for my husband 😀 ! I guess this will be for Linna and Helmī, but for Nelle, I need to think something about “reading practice”. She’s 5 and she can’t read. She’s learning letters. 🙂

I have to finish all the the Christmas cards and then I hope to have more time for “Advent Calendar” more like “10 days till Christmas” or “5 days till Christmas” cause I guess at that point I’ll be busy busy busy 😀

I’m going to have one of these up in the kitchen. I’ll have to look which days we will light a candle and mark those in some way. It’s a lovely idea.
