Why I’d Drive to Salacgriva Again for Dana’s Makeup Magic

My time in Riga with colleagues was truly enjoyable, and I’m so glad I made the decision to go! But what I really want to talk about today is the makeup, because it was a game-changer.

I’m not someone who’s good at makeup—I’ve tried a few times, and let’s just say the results were less than ideal. I’ve had my makeup done four times now, and two of those experiences were terrible. That’s why I knew I had to make the drive to Salacgriva, my hometown, to see Dana. She did my makeup for last year’s Christmas party, and I just love what she does.

Dana’s skill is truly something special. I wanted a look that was subtle—something that enhanced my features but didn’t feel overdone. She absolutely nailed it. The best part is, it wasn’t just about the makeup itself; it was the way she made me feel. She’s always so calm and kind, and she knows exactly how to make me feel confident in my own skin.

It was totally worth the drive, and I’m already looking forward to the next time she works her magic! Makeup has the power to transform, but it’s the artist behind it that truly makes the difference.

Dana, thank you for making me feel so beautiful!

        1. For me, looks aren’t what truly matter—it’s what’s inside that counts. 😊 That’s why I feel comfortable sharing both a ‘regular’ photo taken in bad lighting and one where I’m wearing makeup. When a friend saw this blog post, she called me, surprised that I’d let the world see the unflattering picture. But to me, both photos are equally valuable—they’re just different sides of the same story. ❤️

            1. Thank you, John! 😊 I’m glad you like my approach—it’s all about embracing both sides of ourselves, right? ❤️ I appreciate your kind words! And it’s 1AM here, do you have plans for New Year?

              1. One AM! You need your beauty sleep, girl! oh yes, big plans, sit on couch and drink beer. 😂🍻 I have no family in Nevada since the divorce in 2016 so I’ve been on my own for a few years of which I am fine with. The idea of dating isn’t very high on my to-do list.

                1. Haha, yes, beauty sleep is definitely needed! 🍻 Sounds like a perfect New Year’s plan to me—couch and beer, no stress. It’s understandable that you’re good on your own; sometimes that solo time is exactly what we need. Wishing you a peaceful and relaxed start to the new year! 😊

                    1. It’s a pity you haven’t found the person who brings you peace and harmony yet, but I truly believe that one day, when you least expect it, you’ll cross paths with someone who does. Sometimes the best things happen accidentally. Wishing you all the happiness and love you deserve! ❤️
